Sustainability

For more than 25 years, we have been committed to developing solutions that ensure responsibility for our climate and environment.

We work actively with 5 of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, focusing especially on:
– Good Health and Well-Being
– Clean Water and Sanitation
– Affordable and Clean Energy
– Decent Work and Economic Growth
– Responsible Consumption and Production

In practice, this means a wide range of initiatives, including the following:

IDA has developed and published Climate Plan 2050, which aims to help Denmark reduce CO2 emissions by 90% by 2050 compared to 2009 levels.

Ventilation and cooling of our meeting rooms are provided by district cooling from HOFOR, automatically controlled by CO2 sensors in every room.

Toilet flushing uses collected rainwater, reducing water consumption by more than 800 m³ per year.

Our solar panel system, originally installed in 1998, was upgraded in 2014 with new technology to supplement our electricity use. Since 2014, the panels have produced enough energy to power 10 detached houses of 150 m² each or run 55,000 computers.

We have eliminated plastic water bottles. Instead, we use refillable glass bottles, which can be conveniently filled at water stations placed throughout the conference areas.

Sustainability isn’t just a principle — it’s part of how we operate every single day.

Activities

Our central location in Copenhagen offers plenty of opportunities to include a variety of activities in your program.
Many of our clients have, on different occasions, taken advantage of teambuilding activities or canal tours, providing a welcome opportunity for both colleague bonding and a unique insight into the ongoing development of Copenhagen’s harbor.
