Huset Vartov, located on City Hall Square in Copenhagen, offers a truly unique setting for meetings, conferences, and celebrations.

The house is filled with history and the spirit of the Danish folk high school movement, and everyone is welcome.

Vartov is one of Copenhagen’s finest listed buildings – and perhaps one of its best-kept secrets.
The building once served as a hospital and chapel, where the poet, politician, and priest N.F.S. Grundtvig spent the final 33 years of his life.

Today, the house is a vibrant hub of learning, culture, and community, home to hundreds of people who work and gather here every day.

Each day, between 10 and 1,000 guests visit Vartov. Some for private meetings, others for large conferences, and some to celebrate special occasions.The possibilities are many.
We serve delicious pescetarian meals, and it’s always possible to include a folk songbook or a short introduction to Grundtvig as part of the experience – in true Danish højskole spirit.

We offer a wide range of facilities to accommodate different needs.

The Main Hall can host 30 to 150 participants and covers 150 m², making it ideal for larger events.

Grundtvig, with a capacity of 10–30 people and an area of 60 m², is well suited for smaller meetings or conferences.

We also have Mathilde Fibiger, accommodating 10–20 participants in 50 m²; Hal Koch, suitable for 4–12 people in 26 m²; Ebbe Reich, with space for 4–16 participants in 30 m²; and Kredsen, which can host 4–18 people in 74 m².

Vartov offers a wide range of facilities to accommodate different events and gatherings.

Our flexible spaces make it possible to host everything from intimate meetings to large conferences and festive celebrations.

We provide modern meeting rooms, equipped with everything you need for a successful event, including Wi-Fi, projectors or screens, notepads and pens, flip charts/whiteboards, PCs, folk songbooks, microphones, and a short introduction to Vartov and Grundtvig.

Parking is available under Industriens Hus on City Hall Square, at Dantes Plads, or in nearby streets for those arriving by car.
